I'm a visual and verbal designer of information and interactions.
(I design and develop. I like solving problems. I'm a philosopher + writer + artist + musician + scientist + funny lady. )
Who I am
I'm a design grad student at Carnegie Mellon University studying an educational path that focuses on a combination of information design, interaction design, and writing. I TA the first-year graduate interaction design seminar. I'm graduating in May 2011 and have recently accepted a fabulous design position in NYC.
In the past I worked as a multimedia journalist for ABCNews.com and a Web design & development consultant for the University of Texas. In the summer of 2010, I approached the Guttmacher Institute with a proposal to kickstart a new media campaign to amp up their data collection. I am now remotely continuing with Guttmacher as a design & new technologies consultant. Additionally, I've written a Web column for the National Examiner Web site (I'm the "National Web Examiner") since 2008 and continue to write anything I have time for on the side.
I recently organized and hosted a SXSW Interactive panel in March 2011 on my thesis research concerning humor and user-centered design.
